Nintendo has officially unveiled its new console, Nintendo Switch 2, revealing a powerful lineup of exclusive games that will be released in physical format. The Japanese company’s strategy focuses on first-party titles, many of them completely new and designed to take full advantage of the new system’s capabilities.
Among the main highlights of the event are:
Mario Kart World: The latest entry in Nintendo’s most popular racing series arrives in physical format, featuring open-world tracks and both local and online multiplayer support. Available at the console’s launch.
Donkey Kong Bananza: The iconic ape returns in an open-world 3D platformer, with classic 2D sections and the most expressive Donkey Kong yet. Scheduled for release on July 17.
Kirby Air Riders: Masahiro Sakurai returns to the franchise with a racing and action game exclusive to Switch 2, set to launch in 2025.
Hyrule Warriors: The Age of Destiny: While not all details were revealed during the Direct, a new installment in the musou series set in the Zelda universe was confirmed.
Drag X Drive: A sports title that utilizes the new Joy-Con mouse sensors, exclusive to Switch 2, promising to showcase the console’s graphical power and new features.
The Duskbloods: FromSoftware and Nintendo collaborate on this multiplayer action RPG with a Victorian and steampunk setting, starring vampires. Exclusive to Switch 2.
All of these titles, unless otherwise indicated, will be available in traditional physical format, featuring higher-capacity and faster cartridges.
With this, Nintendo aims to strengthen its catalog of physical exclusives, maintaining its commitment to collectors and marking the beginning of a new generation for the brand.
