Nintendo today unveiled a 10-minute trailer for Pokémon Pokopia, the new building and social life title coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2 on March 5, 2026. The game is now available for preorder at Nintendo's official store.

A World to Rebuild

In Pokémon Pokopia, players will control Ditto, who will meet the peculiar Professor Tangrowth in a desolate world that once thrived with life. The game's premise revolves around reviving this abandoned place, restoring it to its former glory through habitat construction and attracting Pokémon.

Core Mechanics

Habitat Creation

Each Pokémon has specific preferences about where to live. By placing strategic objects like fishing rods near the sea, you'll be able to attract Magikarp, while other habitats will draw different species. The variety of environments you create will determine the diversity of Pokémon you'll encounter.

Move Learning

The Pokémon you befriend will teach you their signature moves. Squirtle will teach you Water Gun to water dried vegetation, while special moves will allow you to transform into Pokémon like Lapras to navigate between islands or Dragonite to reach remote locations.

Crafting and Building

Collect materials to craft objects at the workbench: furniture, toys, lampposts, pathways, and much more. Use these elements to transform the environment and create a welcoming neighborhood where Pokémon can live comfortably.

Request System

Pokémon will ask you for help with various tasks. You'll need to collaborate with different species to complete the most important requests and build majestic structures together.

Multiplayer and Customization

Pokémon Pokopia will offer multiplayer mode for up to four players. Additionally, it will include the Game Share function, allowing someone without the game to play with you on Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.

The game also features a photography system to capture your creations, character appearance customization, and room decoration options.
